Ghost Division Patches
Here you can find a list of different United States Army Ghost Division groups that existed during World War Two. These ghost divisions are also referred to as Phantom Divisions. For every Ghost Division we have added pictures of their insignia (some with variations) and some background information. The patches seen here are made during the World War Two era. 21st Airborne Ghost Division
The 21st Airborne Division was part of operation Quicksilver/Operation Fortitude South. A deception operation with fake units to deceive axis intelligence.
The division was part of the 1st Army Group and later the 14th Army group, both also Phantom.
The 21st Airborne was supposed to be deployed during operation Market Garden.
The divisions insignia is a blue backed circle with two thunderclouds. Usually there is a black Airborne tab with yellow lettering above.
46th Infantry Ghost Division
The 46th Infantry Division was part of operation Quicksilver. A deception operation with fake units to deceive axis intelligence. The division was part of the 1st Army Group.
The divisions insignia is a green backed circle with a yellow diamond and a blue six pointed star.
