Theater Made Patches

Here you can find a list of different United States Army patches that were theater made, which means they were made during the theater/not in the US. For every Theater Made patch we have added pictures of the insignia (some with variations) and some background information. The patches seen here are made during the World War Two era. We hope you find this helpful!

German Theater Made Patches
In general, German Theater Made patches are made after the war ended. These patches are made during the occupation era of Germany and Austria. A typical feature of German made insignia is the double backing with the khaki fabric.

British Theater Made Patches
The British theater made printed patches are made in the same style as the British and Canadian printed patches. These patches are printed on a fine black fabric and are often a little more brightly colored than the embroidered versions.

The embroidered British Made patches are often done on felt and sometimes have a typical black woven backing.

Italian Theater Made Patches
The Italian theater made patches are often from a very fine fabric and almost a silk like embroidery. You can also find Italian theater made patches in a printed style or in a tapestry woven style.

Unknown Theater Made Patches
Unfortunately we haven't figured out yet which kind of theater made these patches are. The patches are different from the standard US made insignia. If you happen to know where these patches were made during the war or they turn out to be US made variations we would be happy to know!
